Most people are attracted to Montrose by the diversity of the community and the charm of its quaint brick bungalows. Many of Houston's best restaurants, cafes, and clubs are located in this eclectic neighborhood. Artists, musicians, business executives, and people of all ethnicities and persuasions mix in an atmosphere of urban sophistication.
Montrose is home to the University of St. Thomas and the Menil Collection. Both institutions have worked hard to blend their architecture with the surrounding residential neighborhoods, featuring outdoor sculptures and park-like grounds.
